Get away in a tent
Want something to do next bank holiday weekend that won’t break the bank? With money having to spread ever further and purse strings tight, it can be a difficult task to find something to do for the long weekend which will make you feel like you’ve had good break without ending up having to watch every penny for the rest of the month.

One option for a budget break is a camping trip… wonderful British countryside is never far away and is often overlooked in favour of more exotic climes, but if you’re feeling thrifty it’s a real option, whether it’s a solo trip, a romantic adventure or a happy family fun break , especially if the weather holds out.

So what’s the best way to plan your trip? First, you may need to get some kit. Outdoor gear needn’t be expensive, and if you’re new to getting outdoors then you might look at how to choose outdoor gear and buy it online. The initial outlay of cash may be off-putting if you don’t already have a tent lurking at the back of the garage, but once you have your something to keep you protected from the elements, a stove, sleeping bags and mats then you’re ready to roll, and you can use them time and time again.

Once you’ve got your gear all you need to do is pick your location, check the weather and call the campsite to book your pitch. Typically a basic site costs around £4-5 per adult per night while a campsite with plenty of facilities will be around £9-10 per adult per night.
